Bigas Luna Collection in March
Tartan Video have announced the UK Region 2 DVD release of Bigas Luna Collection for 26th March 2007 priced at £39.99. Spain’s master of sultry saucy comedies, Bigas Luna has been part of the new waves of Spanish cinema alongside his contemporaries, Pedro Almodóvar and Julio Medem. His provocative storytelling also helped launch the careers of Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz

The Ages of Lulu (1990)
After having her first sexual experience as a teenager with her brother’s best friend, Lulu meets him years later and they marry. As they continue to explore their physical passions, she descends increasingly into the kinky, darker world of sexual gratification. An erotically charged movie with Italian-born Francesca Neri (Live Flesh; Hannibal) as Lulu, and an early appearance from Javier Bardem.
Jamón Jamón (1992)
Penelope Cruz (Volver; Vanilla Sky) makes her film debut as Silvia, the headstrong daughter of the town’s prostitute who becomes pregnant by mummy’s boy José. But she soon begins a lustful affair with Raul, who works in the local ham factory. A Hot sexy and outrageous classic, it made a star of Javier Bardem (Live Flesh; The Sea Inside). It also features Jordi Mollà (Flower of My Secret; Blow)
Golden Balls (1993)
Javier Barden gives a towering performance as architect and stud Benito, who wants wealth, women and a skyscraper erected as his monument. Even after marrying the daughter of a wealthy banker, he still has a mistress. But when both women meet and realise he’s cheating on the both, they plan their joint revenge. The Tit and The Moon (1994)
Nine-year old Tete is jealous of his baby brother, who now complete access to his mother’s nipples. He prays to the moon for his own breast and that arrives in the form of Estrellita, an exotic French dancer. But even then, he’s has to compete with her lustful admirers too. A surreal fairytale about sexual desire with a dream sequence that’s as potent as ever.
With the exception of The Tit and The Moon (which was recently released with a remastered transfer) the films in this set have been remastered and there is a Bigas Luna interview on the Golden Balls disc.
