Beowulf (R2) in March

Warner Home Video have announced the UK Region 2 DVD release of Beowulf on 17th March 2008. In the age of heroes comes the mightiest warrior of them all, Beowulf. After destroying the overpowering demon Grendel, he incurs the undying wrath of the beast’s ruthlessly seductive mother who will use any means possible to ensure revenge. The ensuing epic battle throughout the ages, immortalizing the name Beowulf. Director Robert Zemeckis tells the oldest epic tale in the English language with the most modern technology, advancing the cinematic forum through the magic of digitally enhanced live action.

Available in single-disc Theatrical Cut (£17.99) and two-disc Director’s Cut (£22.99) versions, the latter features more gore, blood and violence and presents the film the way it was intended.

The Theatrical Cut single-disc release is barebones.

The Director’s Cut two-disc release offers the following extras:

  • The Origins of Beowulf
  • Beowulf’s Beast of Burder
  • Art of Beowulf
  • Deleted Scenes
