Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon in September

Starz Home Entertainment have announced the UK Region 2 DVD release of Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon on 24th September 2007 priced at £16.99. Winner of the Best Film and the L'Ecran Fantastique Awards at Montreal's Fantasia Film Festival and the Audience Award at New York's Gen Art Film Festival, Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon is mockumentary about a deranged young man intent on following in the footsteps of his heroes, Michael Myers, Jason Voorhees and Freddy Krueger.

Hoping to find fame as one of the greatest psychotic serial killers in history, even overshadowing the diabolical notoriety of Myers, Vorhees and Krueger, young Leslie Vernon (Nathan Baesel) invites a small documentary film crew to follow him as he plots a bloody night of mass murder. Vernon even has his own potential nemesis in the form of Doc Halloran (Robert Englund), an obsessed psychiatrist intent on stopping the killer before he even gets started.

Now, having chosen his victims and laid the traps that will lead them to their fate, Vernon, along with the film crew, lies in wait. But as the evening approaches, Vernon's careful plans begin to unravel and the head of the documentary team, Taylor Gentry (Angela Goethals), is forced to become actively involved in the madman's horrific scenario.
