Babel R1 CE in September

Paramount Home Entertainment have announced the Region 1 DVD release of Babel (2-Disc Collector’s Edition) on 25th September 2007. Shot in three continents and four languages Babel traverses both the deeply personal and the explosively political. Acclaimed director Alejandro González Iñárritu (21 Grams, Amores Perros) explores with shattering realism the nature of the barriers that seem to separate humankind. In doing so, he evokes the ancient concept of Babel and questions its modern day implications: the mistaken identities, misunderstandings and missed chances for communication that, though often unseen, drive our contemporary lives. Brad Pitt, Cate Blanchett, Gael García Bernal, Kôji Yakusho, Adriana Barraza and Rinko Kikuchi lead an international ensemble of actors and non-professional actors from Morocco, Tijuana and Tokyo.

Following its initial barebones single-disc release, Babel returns to Region 1 DVD with a second disc offering a feature-length making of video diary.

Presented in Anamorphic Widescreen with English (2.0 & 5.1) and French (5.1) audio and subtitle options, the second disc offers the Common Ground: Under Construction Notes comprehensive feature length making-of video diary from director Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu.
