Avengers: Endgame trailer: Phase 3 of the MCU comes to a close

For fans of the Marvel Universe it's been a pretty long and painful wait to see what happened after the devastating ending to Avengers: Infinity War. The trailer for Avengers: Endgame was coming, then it wasn’t. Then it was, then it wasn't. It's been like this for the past few weeks. There have been an endless stream of articles suggesting when it may be dropping. Marvel fans have been driving themselves over the edge because of a trailer. God only knows what will happen when the film actually arrives.

As you would expect, the rumours and theories have gone off the charts since half the Avengers evaporated into thin air at a click of a finger (now officially known as The Decimation). Aside from the trailers for Avengers: Endgame and Spiderman: Far From Home, the biggest clues will no doubt come towards the end of Captain Marvel, who was paged by Nick Fury before he also turned to dust, as she will probably lead the charge towards taking down Thanos.

We all know that both Luke Evans' and Robert Downey Jr.'s Marvel contracts expire at the end of phase 3 of the MSU, and many people expect their characters to face an heroic death along with it. Hawkeye was mysteriously absent from the marketing in the first film and the Russo brothers have teased he will play a big role this time round. Early on-set photos have seen him dressed as Ronin, which could lay the groundwork for a solo film in phase 4. Anyway, enough talk for now, and take a look above at the first trailer for Avengers: Endgame.

A culmination of 22 interconnected films, the fourth installment of the Avengers saga will draw audiences to witness the turning point of this epic journey. Our beloved heroes will truly understand how fragile this reality is, and the sacrifices that must be made to uphold it.

Directors Anthony Russo and Joe Russo return to finish what they started. A small selection of the characters and cast in the film include, Brie Larson as Captain Marvel, Chadwick Boseman’s Black Panther, Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange, Chris Evans’ Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk, Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Chris Pratt as Star Lord and the Guardians of the Galaxy and Josh Brolin as the voice of Thanos.

Avengers: Endgame arrives in UK cinemas on April 26th 2019.
