Attack of the Clones: CUT!

Thanks to Sean over at DVD Web for letting me know about this one. Apparently, for the first time a Star Wars film has been rated PG by the BBFC. But that's not all - also, this is the first Star Wars film to have been cut for theatrical release in the UK.

In order to prevent the film getting a 12 certificate a 1 second cut has been made to remove a headbutt during a what believe to be a fight between Jango Fett and Obi Wan Kenobi (or possibly Anakin).

The full text from the BBFC website is as follows:

When submitted to the BBFC the work had a running time of 142m 6s.
The running time of this film was calculated from the measured length of 12787+12 ( feet + frames ).

Final Runtime: 142m 5s

To obtain this category cuts of 0m 1s were required. The cuts were Cuts for Category.
Company chose to cut sight of a head butt to achieve a "PG". A "12" uncut was available to the distributor.
