Angel Has Fallen trailer: Gerard Butler has to save the President once again

There are some film franchises you can't wait to see reach their conclusion, while there are others that you wonder why they even exist. Angel Has Fallen falls firmly into the latter category, marking what you'd expect to be the final film in a series that includes Olympus Has Fallen and London Has Fallen. Even box office returns have been relatively modest - £376m from £130m worth of production budgets - but Lionsgate seem determined to see this through to the bitter end. Gerard Butler has saved the President twice already, so just to freshen things up this time, he's the man accused of trying to kill the man in the White House. It's a big of stretch to call Butler an angel though. Anyway, watch the first trailer for Angel Has Fallen above.

Secret Service Agent Mike Banning is framed for the attempted assassination of the President and must evade his own agency and the FBI as he tries to uncover the real threat.

Ric Roman Waugh directs, with Danny Huston, Frederick Schmidt, Jada Pinkett Smith, Nick Nolte, Tim Blake Nelson, Lance Reddick and Piper Perabo all supporting Butler.

Angel Has Fallen opens in the both the UK and US on 23rd August.
