American Cousins and One Last Chance in August
Momentum Pictures have announced the UK Region 2 DVD release of American Cousins and One Last Chance for 30th August 2004 with a retail price of £12.99 each. Both films are set in Scotland, America Cousins is a culture-clash comedy from BAFTA nominated writer Sergio Casi and director Don Coutts, while One Last Chance comes from first-time director Stewart Svaasand and is also the debut production of Dougray Scott's production company, Hero Films, with Scott himself taking on a cameo role in the film.
American Cousins - Two American mafiosi, Gino (Danny Nucci) and Settimo (Dan Hedaya) take refuge in the Glasgow cafe owned by their Scottosh/Italian cousin. But cousin Roberto (Gerald Lepowski) isn't the tough guy they'd expected. His strengths are fish frying and stamp collecting, and he's busy trying to secretly win the heart of loyal cafe waitress Alice (Shirley Henderson). Gino and Settimo try to repay Roberto's hospitality by chasing off a debt collector who wants his property, but their strong arm tactics alarm him and he realises they aren't the PR consultants they claimed to be...

One Last Chance - Tullybridge is a one-horse town in the middle of nowhere in the Scottish Highlands. Nothing much happens in Tullybridge, until three friends, Fitz (Jamie Sives), Nellie (Iain Robertson) and Seany (Kevin McKidd) accidentally find gold. This discovery triggers a series of increasingly absurd and desperate events, made worse when their foolproof moneymaking scheme reaches the ears of local Big Man Harry (Jimmy Chisholm), who wants in on the action.
