Alvin and the Chipmunks R1 SE in November

Fox Home Entertainment have announced the Region 1 DVD release of Alvin and the Chipmunks (Special Edition) on 4th November 2008. Originally created in 1958 by Ross Bagdasarian, Sr., the singing chipmunk trio - Alvin, Simon and Theodore - are brought to life via CGI in this live-action film starring Jason Lee as struggling songwriter Dave Seville who is a surrogate father/stage manager to the chipmunks.

First released on DVD back in April, this new 2-Disc Special Edition release features an hour of new extra features and a digital copy of the film. SRP is $29.98, or you can pick up a Limited Edition Gifset for $34.98 SRP which features a collectible “Alvin” Ty Beanie Baby plush toy in special holiday-themed packaging.

Presented in 1.85:1 Anamorphic Widescreen with English DD5.1 Surround, French and Spanish Dolby Surround and English and Spanish subtitles, new bonus features include:
