Age Out trailer: Tye Sheridan is a young drifter searching for emancipation
Long-time Terrence Malick collaborator A.J. Edwards released his directorial debut back in 2014 with The Better Angels, which didn't get a lot of love on the festival circuit, or anywhere else for that matter. It was all very post-Tree of Life Malick in style and tone and while that lingers on in his second film, Age Out (previously known as Friday's Child), this appears to have more of his own identity stamped on it. It stars Tye Sheridan in the lead role - who has quietly been developing quite an interesting CV - and has a good supporting cast, so it could turn out to be one worth catching. Watch the trailer for Age Out above.
Fresh out of foster care at age 18, a young drifter turns to petty crime to survive, and discovers an impossible love in an unlikely friend.
Edwards also penned the script, with the support cast starring Jeffrey Wright, Imogen Poots and Caleb Landry Jones (playing the scumbag role once again).
Age Out plays in select US theatres and arrives on VOD from November 22 in the US.
