After the Wedding trailer: Michelle Williams and Julianne Moore are caught up in secrets and lies
Before Mads Mikkelson made the seemingly effortless transfer onto the international stage, he was (and still is) the main man in his native Denmark. In 2006 he starred in Susanne Bier's (Bird Box) Oscar-winning After the Wedding, which has now got the remake treatment with Michelle Williams and Julianne Moore in the lead roles. It picked up fairly mediocre reviews at Sundance at the start of the year, and mostly recently played at the London version of the festival last weekend. The first trailer for After the Wedding has just arrived and you can watch it above now.
Seeking funds for her orphanage in India, Isabelle travels to New York to meet Theresa, a wealthy benefactor. An invitation to attend a wedding ignites a series of events in which the past collides with the present as mysteries unravel.
Bart Freundlich directs, with Billy Crudup, Abby Quinn and Will Chase in support of Moore and Williams.
After the Wedding arrives in US theatres on August 9, with a UK date still to be announced.
