A Woman in Winter in April

Tartan Video have announced the UK DVD release of A Woman in Winter for 9th April 2007 priced at £19.99. Set in Edinburgh, Michael is a young local astronomer caught up in experiments to break down the barriers between space and time. He encounters Caroline, an enigmatic French photographer which develops into a obsessive love affair. However, his experiments have turned everything into a kind of claustrophobic dreamscape where all sense of reality has been lost. In a series of flashbacks, Michael’s mental state collapses like the black stars he’s observing, as he struggles to work out if he is a ghost or if it is Caroline who has left this world. Everything is heading for a dramatic resolution during the city’s Hogmanay celebrations.

A Woman in Winter is Richard Jobson’s (16 Years of Alcohol) third feature film, co-produced by Tartan Films.

Features include anamorphic widescreen presentation, DD2.0, DD5.1 and DTS 5.1 Surround audio with extras including director’s commentary, a making of featurette and a music video.
