A date for the Solo: A Star Wars Story trailer seems to have been set

There has been a bit of mystery surrounding the appearance of the first trailer for Solo: A Star Wars Story with fans eagerly waiting to get a first glimpse of the film. News has just broken that the trailer will not début during the Superbowl on Sunday as rumoured, but during Good Morning America on Monday morning, meaning we'll get first eyes on the trailer some time in the early afternoon in the UK.

The Hollywood Reporter suggested only yesterday that the trailer would appear in the Superbowl ad break but it seems that ticketing service 1iota let the following slip earlier:


It seems likely that a TV ad spot of some kind will show up during the Superbowl half-time, which will be instantly poured over for clues by hungry fans.

In the meantime, here's a reminder of the official synopsis for Solo: A Star Wars Story:

Board the Millennium Falcon and journey to a galaxy far, far away in Solo: A Star Wars Story, an all-new adventure with the most beloved scoundrel in the galaxy. Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, Han Solo meets his mighty future copilot Chewbacca and encounters the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, in a journey that will set the course of one of the Star Wars saga’s most unlikely heroes.

The film stars Alden Ehrenreich, Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Joonas Suotamo, and Paul Bettany.

Solo: A Star Wars Story will arrive in UK cinemas on May 25th.
