Tigers and zebras and Coldplay, oh my.
There could be a number of directors that wouldn’t approach Yann Martel’s Life Of Pi with a ten foot barge pole. Of course, with Ang Lee being the daring filmmaker that he is, he’s braved the world famous book about a boy, a boat and a tiger and the latest trailer shows he could be on with a winner.
Suraj Sharma plays Pi Patel, a young boy who finds himself lost at sea after a ship containing his family’s zoo animals gets lost beneath the waves. With no food and hope of rescue, Pi must not only face the perils of the ocean but also the remaining survivors of the accident; a hyena, an orangutan, a zebra and a tiger.
The new trailer shows not only footage of the young boy’s voyage but the face of his older self telling the story (played by Irrfan Khan) and Rafe Spall’s Writer who is keen to listen. Be sure to get a good seat and have a listen when The Life Of Pi arrives December 21.
