Three Identical Strangers trailer: Sometimes the truth is stranger than fiction
The awards season race is slowly heating up with many of the main contenders already made clear. The documentary section is often overlooked in favour of the Best Picture category but Three Identical Strangers looks set to be in the mix for an Oscar come next year. Director Tim Wardle picked up a Special Jury Prize at Sundance at the start of 2018 and this is the sort of slickly made doc the Academy members tend to warm to, with a bizarre story sitting at its centre. To find out what Three Identical Strangers is all about, check out the UK trailer above, just released by Dogwoof.
It tells the astonishing story of three men who make the chance discovery, at the age of 19 that they are identical triplets, separated at birth and adopted to different parents. The trio's joyous reunion in 1980 catapults them to fame but it also sets in motion a chain of events that unearths an extraordinary and disturbing secret that goes far beyond their own lives – a secret that might one day answer key questions at the heart of all human behaviour.
Three Identical Strangers opens in UK cinemas on November 30th 2018.
