Lions Gate announcements including three new Signature Series titles, "The Dead Zone" and "Max"

The next batch of Signature Series re-issues from Lions Gate will arrive on June 3rd carrying a retail price of $19.95 each. The titles are: Happiness, Songcatcher and Chinese Box, though for now we only have details on the bonus features for the latter two...

Happiness will feature a new anamorphic widescreen transfer and English DD2.0 Surround audio, but no bonus features have been confirmed at this stage (there may not even be any bar the usual filmographies, production notes and trailers).

Also announced by Lions Gate is the June 17th release of The Dead Zone: The Complete First Season. This four-disc set offers the entire first season spread over four discs, sporting anamorphic widescreen transfers and DD2.0 Surround audio. Bonus features are as follows...

Disc 1:
  • The creators of the series explain how The Dead Zone came to be
  • Interviews with Lloyd Segan, Michael and Shawn Piller and Rob Lieberman
  • Interviews With Anthony Michael Hall, Nicole deBoer, Kristen Dalton and David Ogden Stiers
Disc 2:
  • A featurette that takes you inside meetings with the writing staff as they outline each episode
  • Interviews with Michael and Shawn Piller, Direcotr Rob Lieberman, Anthony Michael Hall and David Ogden Stiers
Disc 3:
  • An in-depth tour of The Dead Zone's amazing visual effects
  • Interview with visual effects innovator Sam Nicholson
  • A featurette that takes you inside the creative process of Award-winning composer Roy Hay (founding memmber of Culture Club)
Disc 4:
  • A behind-the-scenes collection featuring never-before-seen interviews with The Dead Zone's many guest stars
Fans will also find an exclusive offer inside the set offering them the chance to send off for a never-before-seen 2-hour pilot.

Arriving before all of the above on May 20th is Max, a political drama starring John Cusack. With a retail price of $24.98 you can expect to find an anamorphic widescreen tranfer, English DD5.1 audio, a commentary by director Menno Meyjes and the Theatrical Trailer.
