Vice trailer: Christian Bale is Dick Cheney, the most powerful Vice-President in history
China may admire President Trump's "very, very large brain" and he could well have "accomplished more than any President in US history" but Dick Cheney's time in office as Vice President alongside George W. Bush changed the shape of the world unlike anyone else in the aftermath of 9/11. Adam McKay's new film, Vice, sees Christian Bale take on the role of Cheney (who goes Gary Oldham with the fat suit) to tell the story of his time in office. The film looks set to be in the Oscar running next year and you can get a first look at Vice above right now.
Vice is an epic story about how a bureaucratic Washington insider quietly became the most powerful man in the world as Vice President to George W. Bush, reshaping the country and the globe in ways that we still feel today.
Adam McKay (The Big Short, The Other Guys) writes and directs, with the cast also starring Amy Adams, Alison Pill, Bill Pullman, Steve Carell, Sam Rockwell, Lily Rabe, Eddie Marsan, Shea Whigham, LisaGay Hamilton, Bill Camp and Tyler Perry.
Vice will open in UK cinemas on February 1st 2019.
