Being Frank: The Chris Sievey Story trailer: A look at life under a papier-mâché head
More on London Film Festival 2018
You don't necessarily have to be of a certain age to appreciate the story of Chris Sievey, better known to everyone in the 80s and 90s as Frank Sidebottom. Fans of absurdity and surrealism will definitely find something to enjoy in the documentary Being Frank: The Chris Sievey Story.
You may also recall Michael Fassbender's 2015 film Frank, which saw the actor don the papier-mâché head in a story heavily influenced by the Mancunian comic. The film will also be playing at this year's London Film Festival and you can check out the trailer for the film above.
Frank Sidebottom, remembered fondly as the man with the papier-mâché head, was the court jester of the Manchester music and comedy scene for over 25 years, but only a privileged few knew the man inside. Being Frank tells a twisted tale of split personalities - a suburban superhero with a fanatical desire to preserve the myth he created, and eventually having to battle against being consumed by his alter ego.
Steve Sullivan is directing and the documentary will feature the likes of Johnny Vegas, Ross Noble and Mark Radcliffe.
