Thunder Road trailer: Jim Cummings gives an epic performance
Since appearing at SXSW earlier this year, Jim Cummings' Thunder Road has been picking up flawless critical reviews everywhere it shows on the festival circuit. It may be a small indie but the writer-director-actor has turned in a stunning performance by all accounts. You get a sense of it when you watch the trailer, which although a drama/comedy feels very emotionally charged.
It's actually developed from a short film of the same name made a couple of years ago. If you like the look of it, you can also catch the film at the London Film Festival in October. Watch the trailer for Thunder Road above to see more.
Flawed police officer Jim Arnaud (Cummings) lives a shambolic life made worse by his mother's passing. Unable to change his life for the better, his only stability comes in the shape of his daughter (Kendal Farr) who he tries to father in the best way he can.
Cummings stars, writes and directs, with Nican Robinson, Jocelyn DeBoer, Macon Blair, Bill Wise, Jordan Fox and Chelsea Edmundson all in the supporting cast.
Thunder Road gets a US release this October. You can buy tickets to watch it at LFF here from September 13th.
