Aquaman trailer: Jason Momoa swims his way towards the underwater crown

Wonder Woman has been the saving grace of the DC Universe so far, but they are hoping Aquaman isn't written off as quickly as the others. That said, anticipation about the release of any DC film is still huge despite their problems at the box office and it was no different today at the San Diego Comic-Con.

With Warner Bros. also releasing trailers for the Shazam! and the Fantastic Beasts and Godzilla sequels, Aquaman was just as eagerly awaited. On a quick side note, footage from Wonder Woman 1984 was played to attendees but no trailer as they are only three weeks into shooting. Anyway, enough waffle, watch the first trailer for Aquaman above right now.

The film reveals the origin story of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime—one that will not only force him to face who he really is, but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be... a king.

James Wan is directing his first superhero flick, with the cast starring Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe, Temuera Morrison, Dolph Lundgren, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Patrick Wilson and Nicole Kidman.

Aquaman swims into UK cinemas on December 14th 2018.
