Claire Foy is The Girl in the Spider's Web - check out the first trailer

The first trailer for The Girl in the Spider's Web has been released and sees Claire Foy step into the role of Lisbeth Salander from the Stieg Larsson created Millenium series of books. This film is based on the recent fourth instalment in the series which was written by David Lagercrantz following Larsson's death in 2004.

The last time we saw Lisbeth Salander was in the David Fincher directed English language remake of Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, the other two Larsson penned books were only adapted in Sweden.

Lisbeth Salander, the cult figure and title character of the acclaimed Millennium book series created by Stieg Larsson, will return to the screen in The Girl in the Spider's Web, a first-time adaptation of the recent global bestseller.  Golden Globe winner Claire Foy, the star of "The Crown," will play the outcast vigilante defender under the direction of Fede Alvarez, the director of 2016's breakout thriller Don't Breathe; the screenplay adaptation is by Steven Knight and Fede Alvarez & Jay Basu.

The Girl in the Spider's Web hits cinemas on 9th November and stars Claire Foy, Sverrir Gudnason, Lakeith Stanfield, Sylvia Hoeks, Stephen Merchant, Claes Bang, Christopher Convery, Synnøve Macody Lund and Vicky Krieps. It is directed by Fede Alvarez.
