Never Goin' Back trailer: Two rebellious friends live it up for the summer
After one hell of a slump that lasted for quite some time, we are finally seeing a comedy revival starting to emerge. In the past year we've had Girls Trip, Game Night and Blockers - which may not be a lot but is three more than we've had for years. A24 always seem to have a busy slate and are throwing their hat into the ring with Never Goin' Back which picked up good reviews at this years Sundance and SXSW festivals. Take a look at the red band trailer for Never Goin' Back above.
The film is a look at female friendship, following Angela (Maia Mitchell) and Jessie (Camila Morrone), who dream of escaping their waitressing jobs at a low-rent Texas diner, even if it’s only to Galveston. Taking place over just a few days, the film follows their unpredictable misadventures on the streets of suburban Dallas as they attempt increasingly madcap and wild schemes to try and raise some cash.
Augustine Frizzell (director David Lowery's wife) writes and directs her first film, with Kyle Mooney, Aristotle Abraham II and Joel Allen also featuring in the cast.
Never Goin' Back appears in US theatres at the start of August, but no news yet on a UK release. However, it will be playing at this years Sundance London Film Festival.
