The Yellow Birds trailer: Alden Ehrenreich and Jennifer Aniston deal with the aftermath of the Iraq war
Yesterday we posted a trailer for Paul Rudd's new film which sees him take a dramatic turn and today it's Jennifer Aniston's turn. Here she plays the grieving mother of a soldier killed in Iraq, although there is very little of her performance shown in the trailer. The film appeared at Sundance earlier in the year and the first reviews haven't exactly been kind. Check out the trailer for The Yellow Birds above to see what you make of it.
Against the explosive backdrop of the Iraq War, young soldiers Brandon Bartle (Alden Ehrenreich) and Daniel Murphy (Tye Sheridan) forge a deep bond of friendship. When tragedy strikes the platoon, one soldier must return home to face the hard truth behind the incident, and help a grieving mother (Jennifer Aniston) find peace.
This is director Alexandre Moors' follow-up to his 2013 début Blue Caprice, with a script partially written by director David Lowery. Toni Collette, Jason Patric and Jack Huston also feature in the cast.
The Yellow Birds gets a mid-June release in the US but no news on a UK date just yet. You can also watch it exclusively on DIRECTV on May 17th before it hits theatres and on-demand June 15th.
