Robin Hood teaser trailer: Taron Egerton wields his bow and arrow
Since first appearing in Robin Hood and His Merry Men in 1908 there have over 50 films starring the tight-wearing anti-hero, and yet, despite every generation getting their own version Errol Flynn still stands out as the most memorable performer (sorry Costner) of all. Now we have a new version on the way from Lionsgate starring Taron Egerton in the lead role and Hollywood’s go-to villain, Ben Mendelsohn. Take a look at the teaser trailer for Robin Hood above.
Robin of Loxley (Taron Egerton) a war-hardened Crusader and his Moorish commander (Jamie Foxx) mount an audacious revolt against the corrupt English crown. The trailer indicates the film is going to lean heavily on stylised action scenes and you get the feeling Guy Ritchie might have been a better fit for this rather than last years King Arthur calamity.
Otto Bathurst directs his first feature (his TV background on Peaky Blinders and Black Mirror puts him in good stead) with the cast also featuring Paul Anderson, Eve Hewson, Tim Minchin and Josh Herdman.
Robin Hood shoots into UK cinemas on November 23rd 2018.
