Blindspotting trailer: Daveed Diggs walks a thin line towards the end of his probation
The trailer for Blindspotting arrived today, which has been well cut to wet the appetite of those eager to see it. The film was one of the stand outs from Sundance earlier in the year with lead Daveed Diggs taking a lot of the plaudits. The rapper/actor made his name with Hamilton playing Marquis de Lafayette/Thomas Jefferson which saw him win a Grammy and a Tony Award. Take a look at the trailer above to get a first look.
Collin (Diggs) must make it through his final three days of probation for a chance at a new beginning. He and his troublemaking childhood best friend, Miles (Rafael Casal), work as movers, and when Collin witnesses a police shooting, the two men’s friendship is tested as they grapple with identity and their changed realities in the rapidly-gentrifying neighbourhood they grew up in.
Carlos López Estrada directs and collaborated with Diggs on the script, with the support cast also featuring Janina Gavankar, Tisha Campbell-Martin, Janina Gavankar and Utkarsh Ambudkar.
Blindspotting gets a limited release in the US on July 20th 2018 and hopefully we won't have to wait too long in the UK to see it.
