Hot Summer Nights trailer: Timothee Chalamet slings drugs back in the 90s
Thanks to his turns in Lady Bird and Call Me By Your Name, Timothee Chalamet is very much the man of the moment. His latest release, Hot Summer Nights, sets him up as a drug dealer in a romantic thriller set in the 90s. Pop culture has been obsessed with the 80s for the past decade at least, but the 90s appears to be slowly on the rise, so we should expect a lot more films to be looking back at this decade in the near future. Check out the trailer for Hot Summer Nights and see what you think.
Set in Cape Cod over one scorching summer, the film follows Daniel (Timothée Chalamet), a shy out-of-towner who gets in over his head flipping weed with the neighborhood rebel (Alex Roe) while pursuing his new business partner’s enigmatic sister (Maika Monroe). With a hurricane looming in the wings, tensions rise against a backdrop of drive-ins, arcades, and crashed parties as the stakes (and temperatures) grow ever higher.
It's the directorial debut for writer/director Elijah Bynum and after it premièred at SXSW in 2017, Hot Summer Nights gets a US release this July. No news yet on when it will arrive in the UK.
