Revenge trailer: Coralie Fargeat's blood-soaked feminist payback thriller
A red-band trailer for the upcoming revenge-thriller, Revenge, was released today by Neon. The film has been picking up near flawless reviews since debuting at last years TIFF and promises to put a fresh twist on some of the more dubious rape-revenge films that have appeared in the past. There is a lot of blood in the trailer, which makes the film look like a cross between Mad Max and Kill Bill.
Jen (Matilda Lutz) is enjoying a romantic getaway with her wealthy boyfriend which is suddenly disrupted when his sleazy friends arrive for an unannounced hunting trip. Tension mounts in the house until the situation abruptly––and viciously––intensifies, culminating in a shocking act that leaves Jen left for dead. Unfortunately for her assailants, Jen survives and re-emerges with a relentless, wrathful intent: revenge.
This is Coralie Fargeat's first film and she has also written the script, with Kevin Janssens, Vincent Colombe and Guillaume Bouchède all rounding out the compact cast.
Revenge arrives for retribution in UK cinemas on May 11th 2018.
