Halloween 25th Anniversary DVD
DVDFile.com have the early word on Anchor Bay’s forthcoming 25th Anniversary DVD release of John Carpenter’s Halloween that is set for a Region 1 DVD release on August 5th with a retail price of $29.95. With several releases of this horror classic readily available you may be wondering what exactly this version has to offer to entice you into purchasing the film all over again? Well the answer is “quite a lot actually!”, from the fans perspective at least.
On the first disc you can expect to find the Theatrical Cut of the film presented in Anamorphic Widescreen with both the original Mono soundtrack and a DD5.1 remix. Best of all however is the inclusion of the much-requested audio commentary with director John Carpenter, co-writer Debra Hill and actress Jamie Lee Curtis that until now was only present on the Out Of Print Criterion laserdisc.
On disc two you can expect to find a new 90-minute documentary that includes the “famed making-of footage as seen in the recent AMC Backstory”. Also present on this second disc are the additional scenes as featured in the Extended Television Cut alongside a stills gallery, trailers, TV Spots and Radio spots.
