Here is a look at the DVD artwork and the synopsis as taken from the press release...
Aboard a lonely space station orbiting the mysterious planet Solaris, a terrified crew encounters a host of strange phenomena, including eerie visitors who seem all too human. When psychologist Chris Kelvin (Clooney) arrives to investigate, he must confront an unknown entity that could hold the key to mankind's deepest dreams...or darkest nightmares.
Inspired by the acclaimed science-fiction novel by Stanislaw Lem, SOLARIS on DVD is visually stunning, has an eloquent soundtrack, plus a striking collection of special features. These include two behind-the-scenes featurettes, the film’s script and a unique insight from the film-makers in a feature length audio commentary by Steven Soderbergh and, for the first time ever, James Cameron.
SOLARIS is a dynamic film experience that takes the viewer on a powerful journey to the unknown. As Chris struggles to comprehend the mysterious visions he sees, the other scientists onboard (Jeremy Davies and Viola Davis) can offer little explanation. What are the visitors? Do they intend harm? And can they be permanently banished? As the planet Solaris moves perilously close to the ship, time is running out for Chris to find the answers.
Surrounded by fear, haunted by visions and close to losing his mind, Chris must decide whether it’s ultimately worth risking everything he knows, including his life, to unlock the secret of Solaris…
