This Week's UK Cinema Releases

Emma Stone's and Steve Carell's Battle of the Sexes comes out swinging this week, retelling the story of the 1973 tennis match between Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs. George Clooney returns to the director's chair in Suburbicon, although reviews on the other side of the pond have not been too favourable so far. Daddy's Home 2 hopes to follow up on the success of the first film, while the always unapologetic Sion Sono sees the release of his latest, Antiporno. Park Circus offer up a double bill of Fritz Lang's classic, The Big Heat, and Nicholas Ray's, In a Lonely Place. Jane, a documentary being spoken of as a serious Oscar contender, comes to UK cinemas, and Cate Blanchett takes on 13 different characters in Manifesto.
