Gods and Generals from Warner this July

have announced the Region 1 DVD release of Gods and Generals, an epic tale of the early years of America’s fierce Civil War, based on Jeff Shaara’s New York Times’ best-seller. A prequel to the acclaimed film Gettysburg, Gods and Generals will be presented on DVD from July 15th via a two-sided DVD 18 disc carrying a retail price of $27.98. Details are as follows...

  • English DD5.1 Audio
  • English, French and Spanish subtitles
  • Introduction : Introduction by Executive Producer Ted Turner
  • Commentary by director Ron Maxwell; Colonel Keith E. Gibson, Executive Director of the Virginia Military Institute Museum; and James I. Robertson Jr., Alumni Distinguished Professor of History at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Viewers can either play all of the scenes that have commentary or play individual scenes with commentary

To coincide with the DVD release of Gods & Generals, Warner are also debuting the television movie Andersonville, a powerful tale of inmates of the notorious Georgia prison at the height of the Civil War, based on MacKinley Kantor’s novel. Andersonville, which garnered director John Frankenheimer an Emmy will be presented in 1.85:1 Anamorphic Widescreen with English DD5.1 audio, French DD2.0 Stereo (with English, French and Spanish subtitle options) and will retail at $19.98 from July 15th.
