This Week's Cinema Releases

Week Commencing 11th September 2017

The release of mother! this week marks the return of Darren Aronofsky in insane style. It's not often you see a film like this released by a major studio anymore and it will be sure to split opinion. French director Bertrand Tavernier takes us through on a three-hour plus odyssey of French cinema in the appropriately titled, My Journey Through French Cinema - although this is not a beginners guide, more for those who already know their stuff. British director Sarmad Masud releases his début feature, My Pure Land, which was received very well at the recent Edinburgh Film Festival, and Jon Gunn brings Lee Strobel's true story to the big screen with The Case for Christ. Action flick, American Assassin, stars Dylan O'Brien and Michael Keaton, while Judi Dench once again steps into the shoes of Queen Victoria in Victoria & Abdul. Last of note this week is Byung-gil Jung's The Villainess, whose kickass trailer hits the spot.
