Early details on Universal's new Meaning of Life SE and Scarface on R1 DVD

have officially added a new Special Edition Region 1 DVD release of Monty Python's Meaning of Life to their September 2nd 2003 release slate. Sporting a retail price of $26.98 you can expect this 2-disc set to present the film in Anamorphic Widescreen with English DD5.1 and DTS audio tracks, French DD2.0 Mono and the usual selection of subtitles (English, French and Spanish). Details on the bonus features have not been officially unveiled though The Digital Bits have scored the early word on what to expect in their always excellent 'Rumour Mill' section...

Also expected from Universal a week later on September 9th is a new 20th Anniversary Edition of Brian De Palma's Scarface. There is no word on bonus features or transfer details so keep an eye out for a future news story regarding this release.
