Woody Harrelson has been cast in the Han Solo Movie
More on Star Wars
After much rumour and speculation, Disney have confirmed that Woody Harrelson has joined the cast for the upcoming Han Solo: A Star Wars Story (or whatever it ends up being called).
Harrelson had been widely reported as being in talks for a role that was also attached to Christian Bale for some time - that of Solo's "mentor". The True Detective actor joins Alden Ehrenreich who will play Han Solo, Donald Glover's Lando Calrissian and Emilia Clarke's unknown character in the story of Han Solo's life before he ended up meeting Luke Skywalker and reluctantly joining the Rebellion. It is reportedly set around a decade before the events of Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope.
The Han Solo movie is being directed by Chris Miller and Phil Lord from a script by Jon and Lawrence Kasdan. It arrives in cinemas in December 2018 in between Star Wars Episodes VIII and IX.
