Avengers: Infinity War is now a standalone film

Marvel made the announcement today (via TheWrap) that the Avengers next outing "Infinity War" will no longer be two parts as previously planned.

Disney's schedule change late on Friday night have now revealed that the previous named "Infinity War - Part 2" is now currently known as "Untitled Avengers".

Marvel Studios will still release "Avengers: Infinity War" as planned on May 4th 2018 with the "Untitled Avengers" film still coming out on May 3rd 2019.

The Russo Brothers stated in an interview with Uproxx back in May that "both movies are two very different movies" which explains why the change has been made. The first film is still expected to begin shooting in November this year with Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeel (Captain America: Civil War) writing the script with input from the Russos.

We will have to wait and see if both films are shot back-to-back like previously planned.
