Goodbye Christopher Robin gains Domhnall Gleeson and Margot Robbie
The A.A. Milne biography Goodbye Christopher Robin has signed up Domnhall Gleeson (Ex Machina, Star Wars: The Force Awakens) as the titular author and Margot Robbie (The Wolf on Wall Street, Suicide Squad) as his wife Daphne. The film is to be directed by Simon Curtis who has previous form with the likes of Woman in Gold and My Week with Marilyn.
The film will tell the story of Winnie the Pooh creator, Milne's relationship with his son, Christopher Robin; whose toys inspired the long-lived tails.
Studio, Fox Searchlight said the film will give, "A rare glimpse into the relationship between beloved children’s author A. A. Milne and his son Christopher Robin, whose toys inspired the magical world of Winnie the Pooh."
Director Simon Curtis added "I am delighted to be collaborating with Frank Cottrell Boyce to tell the remarkable and poignant story of the family behind the creation of Winnie the Pooh."
