Paramount shelve Terminator sequel in favour of Baywatch and Sony juggle their 2017 schedule

Despite previously announcing a Summer 2017 release for the next Terminator installment, lukewarm response to Terminator: Genysis has led to Paramount backing away from plans to release a follow-up. As yet no moves have been made in terms of production of the film so we're expecting a long hard think about the franchise before the studio makes any further commitment.

In its place they have announced Baywatch starring Dwayne Johnson and Alexandra Daddario will fill the vacant May 19th date.

Sony, meanwhile have pushed Jumanji back to a 28th July 2017 timeslot; the remake of the Robin Williams almost-classic was previously set for a 25th December 2016 release. They have now also moved the latest Spider-Man reboot from the now occupied 28th July forward a couple of weeks to 7th July.
