TDF Box Office Wars! [Dec. 4 - Dec. 6]

To get involved with you, our readers and to have a bit of fun with the UK Box Office figures, we here at The Digital Fix have introduced a new weekly feature to the site called "TDF Box Office Wars"

Each week a selection of the Film@TDF staff will predict the Top 5 Films at the UK Box Office for that weekend and will receive 1 point for each film in the correct position. The results will then be calculated and posted along with the Box Office report on the following Tuesday.

Feel free to play along by leaving a comment with what you believe will be the Top 5 this weekend or tweet us @FilmDigitalFix with the hashtag #TDFBOW

4th Place: JAMES PERKINS {1 point}
3rd Place: GARY COUZENS {2 points}
2nd Place: MARION KOOB {4 points}
1st Place: KIERON TOWNEND {4 points}

Once again, Kieron pips Marion to the title with equal points but correctly predicted the Top 4 whereas Marion identified the Top 3 and the film in 5th place. Meanwhile, a valiant first attempt by Gary as he walks away with the Bronze medal and slipping into last place once again is James with only 1 point

With Kieron managed to reclaim the TDF throne once again, will Marion be able to use the Christmas Movie spirit to her advantage and win it back? Or will James finally win for the first time? Find out all the predictions for this weeks Top 5 below:

This weeks new releases in UK Cinemas:

Christmas with the Coopers
The Night Before
Viktor Frankenstein

This weeks competitors and their predictions are:

[Film News Editor]

1) The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2
2) The Good Dinosaur
3) Spectre
4) Christmas with the Coopers
5) Viktor Frankenstein

James wrote:

"After my risk last week did not pay off, I've decided to play it safe this week. Once again THE HUNGER GAMES will take top spot with Pixar's latest feature THE GOOD DINOSAUR still stuck in second. The remaining few people who are yet to see SPECTRE will help it into third place. As for the new releases, a wide audience will want a family friendly Christmas movie which they will most likely find with CHRISTMAS WITH THE COOPERS whereas KRAMPUS and THE NIGHT BEFORE are centered towards a more mature audience. VIKTOR FRANKENSTEIN will just sneak into the Top 5 thanks to big British stars Daniel Radcliffe and James McAvoy."

1) The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2
2) The Good Dinosaur
3) Spectre
4) Viktor Frankenstein
5) Christmas with the Coopers

Marion wrote:

"With no huge releases this week, I expect the top three to hold in the same order. I suspect that VIKTOR FRANKENSTEIN, led by Daniel Radcliffe and James MacAvoy will come out top of this week's newbies, among a flurry of Christmas films including KRAMPUS, THE NIGHT BEFORE, and CHRISTMAS WITH THE COOPERS. While KRAMPUS and THE NIGHT BEFORE each have their own edge - horror and humour respectively, I suspect that CHRISTMAS WITH THE COOPERS will appeal to a wider audience, hence placing it in fifth position."

1) The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2
2) The Good Dinosaur
3) Viktor Frankenstein
4) Spectre
5) Christmas with the Coopers

Kieron wrote:

"After a few weeks of abject failure, it's time to get things back on track. With that I'm going back to basics and sticking with what I know. There are no particularly big releases this week so I suspect THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY - PART 2 will stay in first place, with Pixar's THE GOOD DINOSAUR holding firm in second. VIKTOR FRANKENSTEIN will be the highest new entry in third place, while SPECTRE will slip one place to fourth. The fifth and final spot will go to CHRISTMAS WITH THE COOPERS, even if I would prefer it to be KRAMPUS."

Who will win The Digital Fix's BOX OFFICE WARS this week? Can Kieron remain at the top or will Marion reclaim her crown as the Queen of TDF? Do you agree with our lists? What's your Top 5? Let us know in the comments below or tweet us @filmdigitalfix with #TDFBOW
