TDF Box Office Wars! [Nov. 27 - Nov. 29]

To get involved with you, our readers and to have a bit of fun with the UK Box Office figures, we here at The Digital Fix have introduced a new weekly feature to the site called "TDF Box Office Wars"

Each week a selection of the Film@TDF staff will predict the Top 5 Films at the UK Box Office for that weekend and will receive 1 point for each film in the correct position. The results will then be calculated and posted along with the Box Office report on the following Tuesday.

Feel free to play along by leaving a comment with what you believe will be the Top 5 this weekend or tweet us @FilmDigitalFix with the hashtag #TDFBOW

3rd Place: KIERON TOWNEND {2 points}
2nd Place: JAMES PERKINS {3 points}
1st Place: MARION KOOB {4 points}

Congratulations to last weeks winner Marion Koob who keeps her crown as Queen of TDF for at least another week. Once again, James finished in 2nd place with a slight improvement on his previous score and Kieron scores 2 points but takes the bronze for the second week in a row.

Will Marion manage to make it three wins in a row? Or maybe Kieron will reclaim the TDF throne? Or will James finally win for the first time? Find out all the predictions for this weeks Top 5 below:

This weeks new releases in UK Cinemas:

This weeks competitors and their predictions are:

2) The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2
3) Spectre
4) Carol
5) The Lady in the Van

"In an attempt to win this competition for the first time, I'm going to take a huge risk and say that THE GOOD DINOSAUR will take first place in its opening weekend, defeating Katniss and THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY - PART 2. This, in large, will be down to the Pixar name and with the colder weather coming in, more kids will want a trip to the cinema. SPECTRE will drop to 3rd but still make a couple of million whilst new release and Oscar contender CAROL will sail into 4th with the incredible reviews and word of mouth it has been receiving. I believe that the other new releases will make a fair sum of money but not enough to take over THE LADY IN THE VAN which will slip to 5th and maybe drop out next week with the release of some Christmas themed films. This has been the toughest week yet to predict."

[Cinema Editor]

1) The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2
2) The Good Dinosaur
3) Spectre
4) The Lady in the Van
5) Black Mass

"With Pixar popularity at a peak, I expect THE GOOD DINOSAUR to come out on top of this week's new releases (and knock out HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA 2), just behind THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY - PART 2, which is likely to hold on to another week at the top. SPECTRE is still a staying power and as well as, I suspect, THE LADY IN THE VAN. I'm betting Johnny Depp-led BLACK MASS will do better that Steven Spielberg's Bridge of Spies. Carol reviewed well, but is more of a niche offering, hence why it isn't in the Top 5."

1) The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2
2) The Good Dinosaur
3) Spectre
4) Bridge of Spies
5) The Lady in the Van

"This week's box office is perhaps the hardest week to pick since our little competition started. Up until now we haven't had many big releases, but with the festive period upon us, predicting the top five will be much more difficult.

With that, THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY - PART 2 will remain in top spot doing very good business. The first new entry will be Pixar's THE GOOD DINOSAUR, with strong reviews and the Pixar name behind it ensuring a strong first week. SPECTRE will remain in the top five, outperforming all the other new entries. While BRIDGE OF SPIES will open in fourth taking steady if unspectacular earnings. BLACK MASS will miss out on this weeks top five and THE LADY IN THE VAN will continue to perform well and hold off the latest Johnny Depp film."

[TDF Legend]

1) The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2
2) Spectre
3) The Good Dinosaur
4) Bridge of Spies
5) Carol

"THE GOOD DINOSAUR isn't getting great reviews or word of mouth but the Pixar name might give it a decent opening weekend. CAROL is the indie release this week and stellar reviews (it must be a serious Oscar contender) and will be top five."
