TDF Box Office Wars! [Nov. 13 - Nov. 15]

To get involved with you, our readers and to have a bit of fun with the UK Box Office figures, we here at The Digital Fix have introduced a new weekly feature to the site called "TDF Box Office Wars"

Each week a selection of the Film@TDF staff will predict the Top 5 Films at the UK Box Office for that weekend and will receive 1 point for each film in the correct position. The results will then be calculated and posted along with the Box Office report on the following Tuesday.

Feel free to play along by leaving a comment with what you believe will be the Top 5 this weekend or tweet us @FilmDigitalFix with the hashtag #TDFBOW

[LAST WEEKS RESULTS]

3rd Place: JAMES PERKINS {1 point}
2nd Place: MARION KOOB {2 points}
1st Place: KIERON TOWNEND {2 points}

Congratulations to last weeks winner Kieron Townend who correctly predicted the Top 2 of the UK Box Office results (Spectre and Hotel Translyvania 2). Marion also got two points predicting that Spectre would take 1st place and Burnt would finish in 5th place but narrowly lost out to Kieron's list.

James took the Bronze for the predictions last week only managing one point by correctly predicting that Spectre would finish in 1st.

Will Kieron manage to defend his title this week? Find out all the predictions for this weeks Top 5 below:

This weeks new releases in UK Cinemas:

Steve Jobs
The Lady in the Van
Fathers and Daughters
The Hallow
Tangerine

This weeks competitors and their predictions are:

JAMES PERKINS
[Film News Editor]

1) Spectre
2) Hotel Translyvania 2
3) The Lady in the Van
4) Brooklyn
5) Steve Jobs

James wrote:

"Once again, SPECTRE will continue its impressive run at the UK Box Office. HOTEL TRANSLYVANIA 2 will start to drop off and I think this will be its last week in the Top 5 all together. Maggie Smith's THE LADY IN THE VAN has gained positive reviews from critics and will bring in the family audiences this week and debut in the Top 5. Last week's release BROOKLYN debuted in the Top 5 and will continue to gain steam with great reviews and nominations a plenty. As for another new release this week, STEVE JOBS will most likely bring in both teen and adult audiences and just sneak into the Top 5 ahead of the other new releases."

MARION KOOB
[Cinema Editor]

1) Spectre
2) The Lady in The Van
3) Hotel Transylvannia 2
4) Brooklyn
5) Steve Jobs

Marion wrote:

"No blockbusters to rival SPECTRE are coming out this week, so I've placed it first. THE LADY IN THE VAN is based on a stage and radio play, has Alan Bennett's and Maggie Smith's names attached to it and decent reviews - add to that a heart-warming, Best Exotic Marigold Hotel kind of feel, and I'm thinking it'll do well. Aaron Sorkin's STEVE JOBS isn't performing in the US - hence its slot at the bottom of the five. I'm betting BROOKLYN and HOTEL TRANSLYVANIA 2 will continue to hold out."

KIERON TOWNEND
[Staff Writer]

1) Spectre
2) Hotel Transylvania 2
3) The Lady in the Van
4) Steve Jobs
5) Brooklyn

Kieron wrote:

"SPECTRE still has no real competition and will hold firmly onto top spot. Likewise HOTEL TRANSLYVANIA 2 will stay strong in second place with next to nothing challenging it. Good reviews and the presence of Maggie Smith mean THE LADY IN THE VAN will be this weeks highest new entry. STEVE JOBS won't be far behind, but isn't likely to do great business, while BROOKLYN's strong reviews will keep it in the top five for another week."
