TDF Box Office Wars! [Nov. 6 - Nov. 8]

To get involved with you, our readers and to have a bit of fun with the UK Box Office figures, we here at The Digital Fix are introducing a new weekly feature to the site called "TDF Box Office Wars"

Each week a selection of the Film@TDF staff will predict the Top 5 Films at the UK Box Office for that weekend and will receive 1 point for each film in the correct position. The results will then be calculated and posted along with the Box Office report on the following Tuesday.

Feel free to play along by leaving a comment with what you believe will be the Top 5 this weekend or tweet us @FilmDigitalFix with the hashtag #TDFBOW

This weeks new releases in UK Cinemas:

Burnt
He Named Me Malala
Brooklyn
Kill Your Friends
Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse

This weeks competitors and their predictions are:

JAMES PERKINS
[Film News Editor]

1) Spectre
2) Brooklyn
3) Hotel Translyvania 2
4) Kill Your Friends
5) The Martian

James wrote:

"It's pretty obvious from last weeks report that SPECTRE will rule the box office for the second week in a row. As far as the new releases go, I believe that BROOKLYN will performance the best as it appeals to the widest audience. HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA 2 will take a considerable loss but still manage to stay in third place with new release KILL YOUR FRIENDS being my wildcard this week. Finally, I think that THE MARTIAN will make a final push in its last week in cinemas and claim fifth place. As for the other new releases, even though BURNT has the Bradley Cooper appeal, reviews have so far been fairly negative and will more than likely effect ticket sales. SCOUTS GUIDE TO THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE will likely flop as it appeals to a small audience of cinema-goers."

MARION KOOB
[Cinema Editor]

1) Spectre
2) Brooklyn
3) Hotel Translyvania 2
4) Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse
5) Burnt

Marion wrote:

"SPECTRE had a spectacular start last week and I think it'll hold out. BROOKLYN's positive reviews have created a lot of buzz around it - hence second place. BURNT hasn't reviewed well, but it fronted by the ever-popular Bradley Cooper, which should attract sales in its first weekend. SCOUTS GUIDE TO THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE is my wildcard - it's got an appealing trailer and decent ratings but hasn't done well in the States."

KIERON TOWNEND
[Staff Writer]

1) Spectre
2) Hotel Translyvania 2
3) Burnt
4) Brooklyn
5) Pan

Kieron wrote:

"I see SPECTRE holding top spot for another week, while HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA 2 will likely still be doing good business. BURNT is a gamble but could pull in audiences due Bradley Cooper's appeal. BROOKLYN's strong reviews will see it enter the top 5 and PAN will likely still be pulling people in, even if it does start to fade away from this week onwards."
