Culver City, CA (June 19, 2003) – Identity is a secret. Identity is a mystery. Identity is a killer. Debuting #1 at the box-office with a theatrical gross of over $52 million, IDENTITY was one of the year’s most bone-chilling and terrifying psychological thrillers that had audiences nationwide gasping for more. A mind-bending, scary-as-hell thrill-ride that keeps you guessing with several shocking twists and turns, IDENTITY will premiere September 2 from Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment on videocassette and Special Edition DVD with bonus features including an alternate ending, five deleted scenes (with optional commentary), director commentary, making of featurette, storyboard comparisons and much more!

Starring John Cusack (America’s Sweethearts, High Fidelity) along with an incredible all-star ensemble cast including Ray Liotta (Narc, Unlawful Entry), Amanda Peet (High Crimes, Saving Silverman), Rebecca DeMornay (The Hand That Rocks the Cradle), Alfred Molina (Frida, Chocolat), Clea DuVall (Girl Interrupted, The Faculty), John C. McGinley (The Rock, TVs “Scrubs”), and Jake Busey (Starship Troopers), IDENTITY was directed by James Mangold (Cop Land, Girl, Interrupted).

Trapped by a violent rainstorm, ten travelers are forced to seek refuge at a strange desert motel. They soon realize they’ve found anything but shelter. There is a killer among them and, one by one, they are brutally murdered. As the storm rages on and the corpses pile up, the survivors begin to turn on one another, and as accusations fly, one things becomes clear: Each of them was mysteriously drawn to the motel, not by accident or circumstance, but by forces beyond imagination. So they must fight to uncover the identity of the killer, before they check out – permanently!
