A new CGI Watership Down?

Richard Adams' Watership Down already has the classic 1978 film to its name. That appears not to be enough for the BBC who have now commissioned a 3D CGI reworking of the classic tale.

The report over on Radio Times states that the new version is in the early stages of production and the script is being actively worked on now.

The original film had a stellar cast made up of John Hurt, Ralph Richardson, Denholm Elliott and Richard Briers - we're not sure the modern remake will quite match up... So, with that in mind, what's the point?

While we're on the subject, was anyone else put in fear of black rabbits throughout their childhood thanks to the supremely creepy Black Rabbit of Inlé?
