Bryan Cranston being lined up for Star Trek villain role

The latest murmurings coming out of the Star Trek 3 camp is that Breaking Bad's Bryan Cranston is being considered for the role of the main villain of the film. We like the idea of Cranston's brooding intensity in a Trek film.

Star Trek 3 is hitting UK cinemas in 2016 to mark the 50th anniversary of the long running franchise. It is being directed by Justin Lin (Fast & Furious) and written by Doug Jung, Patrick McKay, J.D. Payne and Simon Pegg. It will star Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg, Karl Urban, John Cho and Anton Yelchin.
