Guy Ritchie's 'King Arthur' To Be Released In 2016

Sherlock Holmes director Guy Ritchie has signed on to direct a film series based on King Arthur, the first of which has a planned release of July 2016.

The series, expected to consist of six films, will be written by Joby Harold, screenwriter of 2007 thriller Awake. Warner Bros. has been keen to produce an Arthurian adaptation for years, since the studio's last attempt - the ill-fated Arthur & Lancelot - was shelved.

Ritchie has been working on the The Man from U.N.C.L.E film adaptation, which will star Hugh Grant, Henry Cavill and Armie Hammer. It will be released on 16th January 2015.
