'Kick-Ass 2' director to rewrite 'Masters of the Universe'
Jeff Wadlow, writer and director of 2013's comic-book sequel Kick-Ass 2 has signed on to rewrite Masters of the Universe.
The story follows Prince Adam, also known as warrior 'He-Man', and his on-going battle against evil warlord Skeletor.
Talks about the film comes five years after Sony took over the production rights from Warner Bros. after creative disagreements over a potential remake to the 1987 cult classic, which starred Dolph Lungren and Frank Langella as He-Man and Skeletor respectively.
Wadlow is also the subject of various rumours tied to the project; although sources report that he is involved in the rewriting process, others have named him as the film's director.
