It’s time to say Fare Thee Well to our extended look at the career of Joel & Ethan Coen with the 2nd part of our Coen Bros special. In the first episode we covered the early part of their oeuvre that ended with the cult classic known simply as The Big Lebowski, so this time we’ll pick up from the old-timey Appalachian overture that is O Brother, Where Art Thou? and follow the rabbit all the way to the chilly Greenwich Village landscape of Inside Llewyn Davis, a wonderfully musical beginning and end if ever there was one!

Along the way of course there are crime classics (No Country for Old Men), flawed comedic curios (The Ladykillers), deeply personal nostalgia puzzles (A Serious Man), and even a beautifully classical western (True Grit), which I'm sure you'll agree makes for plenty of beef in this one hour jerky!

Episode 26 contributors: John White (host), Mike Sutton, Gary Couzens, and Matt Shingleton

The period of the Coens’s career we’re focussing on encompasses the following titles:

O Brother, Where Art Thou?

The Man Who Wasn't There

Intolerable Cruelty

The Ladykillers

No Country for Old Men

Burn After Reading

A Serious Man

True Grit

Inside Llewyn Davis
