'The Wolverine' writer signs on to 'Veronica's Room'
The Wolverine screenwriter Mark Bomback has signed on to write Veronica's Room, the film adaptation of the 1973 thriller.
Bomback also wrote 2010 thriller Unstoppable and did a production re-write on the upcoming adaptation of 50 Shades of Grey.
Veronica's Room is a play written by Rosemary's Baby author Ira Levin, and was a Broadway production in 1973. Its plot revolves around a young couple, who are persuaded to meet the sole surviving member of a family in a mansion in New England. The caretakers insist that the wife resembles Veronica, the family member's long-dead sister, which leads to a sinister cycle of events.
Casting rumours include Tilda Swinton and Rooney Mara in leading role, with the adaptation possibly produced by Screen Gems in association with Walden Media.
