After ruining many a fanboys life forever by casting Ben Affleck as Batman in Batman Vs Superman, director Zack Snyder then cast Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor and completely tore their world apart. Now, according to Latino Review & take it with a pinch of salt, Lex Luthor is going to be a tattooed gang member who built an empire by the age of 18. The site reports that Snyder's Luthor has a sleeve tattoo of the Metropolis skyline on his right arm, has a real hated for Superman and isn't a major fan of Bruce Wayne either. As the source is Latino Review, I would stick this firmly in the rumour column for now. Latino Review
As if the fanboys couldn't get anymore upset, The Hollywood Reporter claims to have the inside scoop on the reboot of the Fantastic Four movie. They claim to not only know that Dr. Doom will be the villain of the piece, but they also claim that the character will now be a woman, and that a big name actress will be sought for the role. Julian McMahon previously played Dr. Doom in the 2005 version of the Fantastic Four. THR
The planned film adaptation of video game series Uncharted for Sony Pictures has finally found a director in the form of Seth Gordon. The film is likely to be based upon the first game in the series and will be penned by David Guggenheim (Safe House). Actor and new Robocop, Joel Kinnaman, has responded to online criticism regarding the official rating for the remake of 1987 classic. The film is rated PG-13 in the States and will be rated 12A in the UK and fans have voiced their concerns, especially as the original was rated X then rated R in America and remains an 18 over here. Kinnaman had the following to say;
"After seeing what we got away with with PG-13 that battle became quite irrelevant... The violence of the of the original RoboCop was so much aligned with Verhoeven’s cinematic tone and his comedic tone, and our film is carrying Jose's tone which he’s a completely different filmmaker, so the violence that we have in our movie completely makes sense in terms of who Jose is." After Disney's Planes fared so badly, the last thing I thought we would see would be a sequel. Who am I to judge though, as Disney prepares us for its sequel Planes: Fire & Rescue.
A Japanese TV spot shows some new, albeit very brief, shots from this years X-Men: Days Of Future Past.
