Does Assassin's Creed have a director?

Computer game film adaptations have always been a touch-and-go genre, but the film adaptation of popular game Assassin's Creed has been on the card for years. And now, it has found a director.

Daniel Espinosa, director of 2012's Safe House, could be helm the project as studio 20th Century Fox director of choice, with Academy Award nominee Michael Fassbender as the film's producer and possible lead.

If 20th Century Fox has their way, it could kiss goodbye the trend of bad computer game films and be one of the highly anticipated films of 2015.
